Chapter 30 - The Envelope Without an Address
While the team continued examining the photograph, another airport officer entered carrying a plain brown envelope.
"It was delivered five minutes ago."
Dana looked up.
"By whom?"
"No one knows."
"It was left on the information desk."
Marcus accepted the envelope carefully.
There was no postage.
No address.
No fingerprints visible on the surface.
Only four typed words.
FOR THE CUSTODIANS ONLY
Arthur immediately recognized the wording.
"Daniel used that phrase."
Marcus carefully opened the envelope.
Inside was a single folded sheet and a brass key attached to faded blue string.
The paper contained no greeting.
Only instructions.
> If Phase Two has begun, stop searching for hidden evidence.

> From this moment forward, someone will begin planting false evidence among the originals.

> Trust no conclusion until Samuel reads the complete archive.
Dana reread the message.
"It knows exactly where we are."
Marcus turned the page over.
A rough pencil sketch appeared on the back.
It showed an underground corridor branching into three directions.
Each passage carried a handwritten label.
Records
Witnesses
Memory
Arthur stared at the final word.
"Daniel changed it."
Marcus looked at him.
"What do you mean?"
"The original blueprint never used the word 'Memory.'"
"So why change it?"
Arthur answered quietly.
"Because he wanted whoever came after him to understand that this investigation was no longer about proving the past."
Marcus waited.
"It was about protecting the future."
The brass key suddenly caught Eleanor's attention.
She stepped closer.
"I've seen that key before."
Everyone turned.
"Where?"
She looked at the blue string tied through the key.
"My husband always tied blue thread that way."
Marcus handed it to her.
"Can you remember what it opened?"
Eleanor closed her hand around it.
"I don't remember the lock."
She paused.
