Nathan walked toward one of the monitors still glowing faintly inside the archive.
With a single press of a hidden switch, security camera footage appeared.
The dock.
The bunker.
The emergency tunnel.
Every step Elias had taken since arriving at the lake had been recorded.
"I've watched all of you."
Nathan's voice remained calm.
"For days."
"For weeks."
"For years."
Samuel stared in disbelief.
"You knew Elias would return."
"I knew curiosity always wins."
Nathan folded his hands behind his back.
"I didn't hide Project Shoreline."
"I waited."
"I wanted the right people to find it."
Elias narrowed his eyes.
"You've been leading us."
