Each team visited different locations throughout the city to observe accessibility challenges in everyday environments.
Alex's group received permission to evaluate a busy public transportation terminal.
Within minutes, the students filled several pages with notes.
Door thresholds.
Ticket machine heights.
Platform gaps.
Sign visibility.
Ryan crouched beside a boarding ramp.
"Look at this angle."
Emma measured it carefully.
"It's technically compliant."
Alex rolled slowly across the surface.
Halfway up, one wheel slipped slightly.
He steadied himself.
"It works."
He paused.
"But it doesn't feel safe."
Dr. Ortiz smiled from several feet away.
"That's an important distinction."
During lunch, the team reviewed hundreds of photographs.
One image caught Mia's attention.
"What is that?"
She zoomed in.
A damaged tactile guidance strip had been patched repeatedly instead of replaced.
The repair actually created another obstacle.
"No one's reported this?"
Alex looked around the terminal.
"Maybe they have."
The sentence hung in the air.
Everyone remembered the investigation at Westbrook.

Not as complaints.
As engineering recommendations supported by measurements and photographs.
The official receiving the report looked pleasantly surprised.
"You already documented possible solutions?"
Emma smiled.
"We figured that would save everyone time."
Walking back toward the university, Ryan laughed quietly.
"I thought engineering was mostly math."
Alex looked toward the crowded sidewalk.
"The math matters."
He glanced at the notebook filled with interviews.
