Most students considered the project complete.
Alex disagreed.
"There isn't really a finished version."
Ryan laughed.
"You've said that three times this week."
"And I still believe it."
Emma placed a notebook beside the prototype.
"Version 16?"
Alex smiled.
"Maybe."
The team reviewed dozens of comments collected from community demonstrations.
Some users requested lighter materials.
Others wanted interchangeable wheel modules.
Several parents suggested simpler maintenance procedures.
Dr. Ortiz gathered everyone around.
"You've received something more valuable than competition scores."
He pointed toward the stack of feedback forms.
"Real users."
The students immediately divided the suggestions into categories.
Safety.
Comfort.
Cost.
Repairability.
Adaptability.
Ryan noticed one recurring request.
"People want products they can repair locally."
Emma circled the sentence.
"We focused too much on advanced engineering."
Alex nodded.
"If replacement parts aren't available..."
"The technology becomes inaccessible."
Exactly.
The realization shifted the entire direction of the project.
Instead of adding more complex features, the team began simplifying components.
Less complexity.
Greater reliability.
Professor Chen visited later that afternoon.
"I heard you're redesigning again."
Alex shrugged.
"We learned something."
She smiled.
"That's usually the best reason."
