"I know."
"But compare it against every archived speech, executive presentation, and training seminar we have."
The process took nearly three hours.
Thousands of recordings were analyzed.
Corporate town halls.
Leadership conferences.
Internal webinars.
Board presentations.
The software rejected match after match.
Then a confidence alert appeared.

Arthur looked at the screen.
"Who is it?"
The analyst enlarged the result.
"It isn't a direct match."
"It identifies a speaker whose vocal patterns resemble the recording."
The name surprised everyone.
Michael Brennan
Former Director of Executive Development.
Retired seventeen years earlier.
Margaret searched the personnel archive immediately.
Unlike Harold Bennett, Michael's records appeared complete.
Performance reviews.
Travel expenses.
Training schedules.
Everything looked perfectly ordinary.
Too ordinary.
Margaret had seen that pattern before.
"People who disappear leave gaps," she said quietly.
