Chapter 89 - The Letter Addressed to the Seeker

No one reached for the envelope immediately.
Margaret asked the forensic team to photograph every angle, test the paper fibers, and examine the wax seal under magnification. Unlike Harold Bennett's forgotten letter, this seal had never been broken.
Arthur stood quietly beside the table.
"I've waited twenty years for answers."
He looked at Margaret.
"I can wait another hour."
The examination revealed something unexpected.
The wax contained microscopic metallic flakes that reflected ultraviolet light. Hidden within the seal was another compass symbol, but this time a second mark appeared beside it—a small circle enclosing three intersecting lines.
Samuel frowned.
"I've never seen that variation."
Judge Walsh searched through photographs recovered from the underground archive.
Twenty minutes later she stopped.
"It appears here."
She pointed toward the margin of an old meeting agenda.
The same symbol had been stamped beside only three names.
None of those names belonged to executives.
All three had served as researchers, historians, or advisors.
Margaret finally opened the envelope.
Inside rested only two sheets of paper.
The first read:
> If you have reached this room, then the Network has already changed again.
The second contained no explanation.
Only a handwritten list of cities.
Boston.
Chicago.
London.
Singapore.
Oslo.
No addresses.
No companies.
Only cities.
At the bottom appeared one final sentence.
> Every city protects one memory.
Margaret folded the pages carefully.
"This isn't an answer."
Judge Walsh nodded.
May you like
"It's a map."
