While preservation specialists secured the chamber, Margaret examined framed photographs hanging along one wall.
They did not depict Vance Dynamics.
Instead, they showed business leaders from different decades.
Factories.
Hospitals.
Universities.
Charitable foundations.
Completely unrelated institutions.
Yet every photograph included one recurring figure.
Not standing in the center.
Not giving speeches.
Always somewhere near the edge.
Watching.
Listening.
Meeting privately with founders.
Arthur stopped before one faded photograph.
His expression changed.
"That's my father."
The room became silent.
Arthur's father stood shaking hands with an elderly gentleman no one else recognized.
The date beneath the frame read:

Margaret carefully removed the frame.
On the reverse side, someone had written:

Samuel slowly lowered himself into a nearby chair.

Arthur nodded almost imperceptibly.
"My father never mentioned him."

The same unidentified mentor appeared again, older now, speaking quietly with another corporate founder.
Margaret traced the sequence.
He seemed to appear every ten or fifteen years...
Always beside people who later built influential organizations.
Never identified.
Never celebrated.
